What is the archive

Not a website. Not a Google Drive. A permanent record.

When a family uploads their lineage records, ceremonial photographs or oral history to the HeritageMetrics archive, those files are stored permanently on the our institutional archive partner's infrastructure. Not on a subscription. Not on a platform that can change its policy. Permanently. Every file carries a unique MD5 digital fingerprint. If anyone attempts to alter the record, it is instantly detectable - the same verification standard used by national museums and legal archives worldwide.

Permanent - Paid Once

Storage paid once, never expires. The our institutional archive partner holds an endowment to fund storage costs in perpetuity. No renewal risk.

Three Privacy Tiers

Public, Private and Sealed. Every file is set individually. Sealed files are locked until succession - visible to no one until formally transferred.

Legacy Steward Protocol

Every archive names a Legacy Steward. When the current custodian transitions, the digital keys pass to the proper heir - automatically and formally.

The HM-Filing Taxonomy

Eight archive categories. Every community has a home.

The HeritageMetrics archive uses a proprietary filing taxonomy. Every family and institution is assigned a unique filing code that makes it permanently searchable and institutionally authoritative.
